An invitation to the families who will make the school possible.

A letter from Peter Istvanffy, CEO & Co-Founder

Your child, becoming who they are — in a school built for the world ahead.

I spent more than thirty years as the head of school at Calgary Academy and Calgary Academy Collegiate – schools internationally recognized for excellence in education.

I’ve founded and or provided guidance and assistance to other Calgary private schools including the Edge School for Athletes, Webber Academy, Tanbridge Academy and to charter schools including the Science Alberta Charter School (now the Connect Charter).

Moreover, I’ve been a consultant to school districts (e.g. NYC public schools), private post secondaries (e.g. Vancouver Film School), U.S. Charter Schools (e.g. Amistad Academy) many private special educational service groups (e.g. U.R.O.K.) as well as foundations (Max Bell, Smart Family Foundation and the Aga Khan International Educational Development Network)

You, I and even my children, graduated into a world where traditional education alternatives adequately prepared us to succeed for the challenges we would face. However, my past experiences and current research has led me to the following worrying observation - I’m now watching children graduate into a world, where success requires qualitatively different skills and capabilities and a world that continues to change exponentially faster than the traditional public, charter and private schools. This is why we founded Newbridge College.

Newbridge College is the school we designed for my grandchildren and with good fortune the school yours will attend. It offers student-centric instruction where children learn mostly by discovery, inquiry and completing projects that solve real problems; conquering the prescribed curriculum as they go. A school where curiosity is encouraged, teachers act as coaches, passion-based learning is reinforced and real time feedback allows you to move forward academically, as fast as you can. Newbridge College prepares students not only for the next grade but for the decades ahead.

We open our doors September 1, 2026. Before we do, a small group of families will decide to build the program with us.

These are the families Newbridge will always belong to – not because they gave, but because they helped shape the school and the future of education.

In year one families starting their children at Newbridge College will receive these special benefits:

  • A 50% reduction in year-one tuition;

  • A dedicated seat on the Founding Families Advisory Council; and

  • A critical voice in shaping the school we are building for our children's future success.

If you are considering whether this is something your family wants to be a part of and are interested in learning more, reach out and schedule your Admissions Intro call with the Newbridge College founding team.

Warmly,

Peter Istvanffy
